Many of The Gathering participants hold their own private foundation meetings while at the conference, adding time at the beginning or end of the weekend – or taking advantage of some of the free time during the event to convene while together in one location.
We talked with the Clouse family about their experience with hosting a board meeting at The Gathering:
“Over the last few years our foundation has found it very convenient and useful to link one of our annual board meetings with The Gathering conference. Since the majority of our board members travel to The Gathering from different locations already, we decided it would be wise to stay another day, save on time and more travel, and utilize the great energy from the conference weekend to our advantage.
“Melea has always done a wonderful job in securing a private conference room for us to meet in, and all of The Gathering hotels we’ve stayed in over the years have had great facilities that allow for a comfortable and productive meeting space. The best part about holding our fall meeting right after The Gathering is that we will have already had the opportunity to reconnect with old friends, with groups we support, and also have had the chance to learn about new ministries while potentially making new contacts with organizations we might be considering supporting. Plus, everything will still be fresh in our minds, and we will all be more up-to-date with what’s going on in the foundation/ministry world. This has been a win-win for us! It allows for a great way to close-out one year and begin the planning process for a new one.”
