The Mission Behind the Music of Sara Groves
“I do what I do with deep conviction, something on the road cut me to the soul,” sings Sara Groves in her song “I Saw What I Saw.” The song was written about one of Sara’s recent trips to Rwanda, one of the many places and ways she works as a social advocate for the voiceless and powerless in the world.
“I sometimes feel God puts harder subjects on my heart,” Sara said in a recent interview with The Baptist Standard. Sara’s humility understates her tireless efforts with International Justice Mission, Food for the Hungry, Blood Water Mission, and several other causes.
Sara Groves has won countless accolades, including “Album of the Year.” She has definitely earned the right to rest, but as her website says, “…No one should have to wait for justice.”
Sara Groves and Steven Curtis Chapman will be our musical guests for The Gathering this year.
